Passage from Elder Pascoe

A passage from Elder Pascoe

When Jesus Christ was here on Earth, He showed on numerous occasions how important children were to Him. When His own disciples were trying to shoo the mothers and their small children away because they thought Jesus had more important things to do, He said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14 NIV) Children were drawn to Jesus and He cherished His time with them. He had a particularly special place in His heart for children who had been hurt through injury or loss of any kind. Jesus was called the Master Healer because He brought comfort, hope and healing to everyone with whom he came into contact.

Jesus loves all children and continues to give His constant care for them today. Children have a level of trust in Him that He doesn’t find even with adults. Jesus even said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:3 NIV) This means that not only must we protect our children but adults ought to maintain a childlike trust in Jesus. No matter what happens to us in life – no matter the disappointments or trials we face – Jesus always stands ready to help us, giving us hope for the future.
